Показать описание
A breathtaking view of the Miami skyline greeted guests for the grand opening of the Frost Science Museum on Biscayne Boulevard in Downtown Miami's Museum Park.
Five years and $305 million in the making, the new hub for science, technology and education opened its doors to thousands of curious visitors. The museum features the 250-seat Frost Planetarium, a three-level aquarium and several other virtual encompassing innovation and technology.
Baptist Health South Florida is a supporter of the Frost Science Museum and a partner in MeLaβ, an exhibit where museum-goers of all ages can "explore the amazing ways your body and mind work together, and how your daily choices can make it all work better." MeLaβ features five interactive zones (eat, move, relax, connect and learn), each offering experiments revealing how your body and mind function.

[crowd cheers and Claps Following The Cutting Of The ribbon]
[Barry T. Katzen, M.D., Founder And Chief Medical Executive, Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute]
We're very excited today with the opening of the Frost Science Museum, and in particular, the Baptist Health MeLab that we're standing in today. This is a very unique environment that kids and adults are going to be able to come to and interact with science in a meaningful way. And importantly, learn about the body, learn all about their bodies and how our bodies work, but also how they can take care of their body from a very young age.
[An attendee plays with a model heart while another looks at the Human body diagram]
[Dr. Phillip And Patricia Frost Lead Donors, Frost Science Museum]
Dr. Phillip:
There will be a place for young people, for not so young people to come to be entertained, to learn and to be inspired.
Dr. Patricia:
And we're happy that others are going to walk through this building as well as through this exhibit and learn from it.
[Frank Steslow, President, Frost Science Museum]
It's just a really great opportunity to bring people here, experience STEM education and really enhance everyone's knowledge base, not just kids, but adults become better citizens.
[Sting rays, jellyfish, birds, and other animals pose in their exhibits]
[George Foyo, CAO, Baptist Health South Florida]
Having an opportunity to come through this gallery, hopefully they will be educated on what are some of the things they can do in their lives to have the best health possible.
