This song helped me heal from a divorce (after a long and difficult marriage). A lot of crazy things go through your mind when the ground gets pulled out from under your feet by something like that. However, just as her song's lyrics read "I picked myself back up. I put one foot in front of the other, looked in the mirror and decided to stay." I have two daughters who do not deserve to live knowing their mother was such a coward that she could not roll with Life's punches. What kind of an example would that set for them? You truly do have to (and I LOVE this line) "Let the universe call the bluff" because while we are going through these things, it is difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it is there, waiting for us and we will see it eventually and we will emerge on the other side of the shitshow if we just hang in there and do not quit. And when you do come out of it, you do see that (as she says) it was not about you. And if we keep moving forward, we will see that life has so many wonderful new plans for us that would have been impossible if we had had our way and not had to walk all those difficult miles. Life tends to seek balance and for every tear you shed through whatever spiritual and circumstantial "gauntlet"it is you may be going through, there will be happy times to come to counteract the depression of it all. In fact, it's very likely, in fact, that you just might find, if you hang in there, that the best part of your life is yet to come for you! Take care and please, please choose "to stay!"

Really love that Katy Perry made a christian song. Really inspiring. Rise is also really encouraging. Going through tough times but I know that even though its hard God will always be there ready to catch me when I fall and hear me when I call. Same goes for everyone else out there. Keep your eyes set on Him and everthing will be better in the end

I think we can all learn from this song. I think we need to recognize that we are so much more then we are. I think that we can learn that everyone in this world who is hurting, suffering, etc, is so much more then what they think they are. I think we can learn that God is always fighting with us. That God will always be here for us.
