My theory? The toy belonged to a kid who died in a hit and run. The toy is now possessed with the spirit of the kid who urges drivers to "not run" or at least take responsibility for running over the toy. Great short 👍

My theory is that this short film is about suicide and the mental health issues. In the beginning the person is driving along a barren road in the middle of an isolated desert, completely alone. They are "safe" within the car that serves as a bubble. A dirty white car is seen, it has crashed and burned and is abandoned. I think it represents broken dreams. They are smoking and trying to distact themself from the reality by absorbing themself in temporary objects. But it's always in the rear view no matter what. The distractions only work for a few minutes before the past trauma is awakened. These problems keep entering the mind begging to be confronted, this is incredibly confusing and bewildering. Then there is the speed bump, the jolt from the whirling thoughts and not knowing what to do. This is when the PTSD episode starts. The person feels stuck and starts panicking a lot. The past trauma is staining the protective bubble, the blood is staining the car. The person then starts frantically searching the mind for a clear answer as to what is wrong. The mind is repeatedly coming back to the past trauma or the mickey mouse toy. The rest of the short film is the person spiraling into panic and shock. The person is still trying to distract from the problem. Eventually the person reaches a point where they can't espcape and un*lives themself.

I absolutely loved the ending. The guy driving and seeing an abandoned car just like the woman had in the beginning. Perfect. To me, that was truly creepy... Like it's gonna go on and on and on...

Some of the sound effects seemed a bit off or exaggerated, namely the squeakiness of her shoes when she walked to the Minnie Mouse doll. The woman's inevitable capture would have been more effective, arguably, by having the doll somehow leap or lunge toward the camera. All this being said, the was a well-made film. I loved the location. I'm not sure where this was filmed, but the seeming utter middle-of-nowhere feeling really helped sell this story along with the actress's performance. Nice.
