C++ Basics: The RETURN Keyword

The return keyword is what you call a control flow statement. Although we talked about 2 control flow statements already in this video :
we decided not to talk about the return keyword in that video. Both continue and break are associated with loops and the return keyword is not. So it is better to understand everything about the return keyword in a dedicated video.

The return keyword is often seen in functions, like return 0; and things like that. However it is a special keyword that can be used to escape from an entire function. Normally if you used break inside of a loop, it will get out of the loop when the break statement is hit. But now whenever you call return, whether inside a loop, if condition or a function, you will be able to get out of the entire function. Also return allows you to bring back a value when exiting from the function and that's why we use return types when making functions.

Seems like a lot to swallow, but we'll make them simple in the video!
