Austin Butler Attends Critics Choice Awards After Lisa Marie Presley's Death

Austin Butler attends the 28th Annual Critics Choice Awards just days after the untimely death of Lisa Marie Presley. Austin, who portrays Lisa Marie's father, Elvis, in the 2022 biopic, was nominated for Best Actor for his role in the film.

They both looked so devastated at the awards. It would have been nice if you had won Austin, but so glad you won the Globes and Lisa was there to see that. She was so proud of you. You two had developed such a beautiful bond. You rocked in Elvis. A job well done.

I feel so sorry for Austin. He had a long way to fall so fast from making the Elvis movie to Lisa’s death in just a few moments and they were all still in the middle of celebrations and elations of winning the awards and being so happy about the success of the movie. He will always feel the pain from this. You can tell he’s been crying. so sad

I have the sense that all of this was more than just about the making of a movie. Even more than a collaboration. This all came together in such a profound way. Then to have it end how it did. Tragic but somehow amazing too. I'm no huge Elvis fan, but there was a lot of love in that room on GG night, particularly between Austin and Lisa Marie. You could see the connection. Somehow there was a healing bond relating to her guilt over her son's death. She was able to clear her soul before dying and is now reunited with her son and her dad. Austin gave her such a gift. What a sweet soul he is. I wish nothing but good in his life going forward. Powerful! I will definitely now go see this movie. Now I want to go to Graceland too! Hope he wins the Oscar!

Austin still looks like he's in a bit of a shock, he and Lisa Marie hit it off immediately and both cared deeply for each other. It's so hard to loose a friend no matter when or how long you've known each other. Bless his heart.

When Elvis died I was 7 but I loved his music I still listen to it today. Lisa was his sunshine and Elvis was Lisa's hero. May she rest in peace and be with her father, son and grandparents.

You can see how much they all meant to each other- Austin playing her father, Lisa Marie having lost her son. Austin having lost his mum. They were intertwined and will forever be. Strangely enough I lost my best actress friend just right before she was able to fulfill her last wish- going to Graceland. Elvis will hopefully welcome her, too..

This is beyond sad for many reasons. It’s been realistically decades since the media paid so much attention to Elvis Presley. This summer the movie Elvis brought Elvis Presley back in the spotlight where he should have never left in the eyes of the media. Then Austin Butler wins the Golden Globe. Finally the very very tragic death of Elvis Presley’s daughter. If Hollywood wants to really do something memorable and something that will last forever it is to give Elvis Presley an Oscar for his immeasurable contributions to the motion picture industry. Hopefully Austin Butler will win the Oscar for the Elvis movie but giving an Oscar to Elvis Presley this year would most definitely be the right thing for Hollywood. The book Elvis: The Quest for an Oscar was written specifically with the goal in mind..
