Massive protests against exorbitant electricity bills have shaken Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as outraged citizens hit the streets. In response to a call by local leaders, residents of PoK have taken to the streets, decrying the unjust burden of high power costs. The skirmish in Mirpur district left multiple injured and prompted Pakistani authorities to impose a curfew. Angry protestors announced that it would hold a “shutter-down and wheel-jam” strike in PoK, Pakistan-based Dawn reported. Police used teargas against the protesters, which also landed in a school and injured several girls, according to Dawn report.
