The most common reason is much more simple. They use their "earnings" to pay down debt, or buy more equipment or other things. Once you roll earnings back into your business that way, it is no longer considered net income, it is capital expenditure and you're growing your business without being taxed.

Absolutely no company should try this. This type of ripp off "transfer pricing" cases are already very settled. If there not an actual substance and economic commercial reason why you are paying those royalties, you will get taxes + fines+ possible felony in some countries.
