Welcome back to my channel! I am now in Romania and I want to document as many ants as possible that aren't native to Finland. My plan is to put shorter videos and after the trip when I'm back at home I will to a long video talking about everything I found in Romania!

This video I will take a look at Lasius Emarginatus. I like to call them wood ants of the city, because of their color, big ant trails and having massive colonies. What I love about these ants is that they (and yellow meadow ants) are the only ants in the genus Lasius that have majors…

Sorry the quality on my videos will decrease while I am in Romania, because I can't edit with my powerful PC at home. Im stuck with my dusty laptop.

Sorry everyone I have made a mistake identiftying these ants. They are Liometopum Microcephalum. Lasius Emarginatus don't have majors, but these have. Excuse me for my mistake. These are somewhat related to Lasius.

When have you been to Romania? Because liometopum microcephalum are flying right now and I bet you would have loved to see some queens, they are the biggest I've seen 12-13 mm I could email you some photos if you're interested

At first I thought they were big ants, and then you showed them with a snail and they shrunk. But the few red-and-black ants I have seen have been more light brown-dark brown, where these really are red-and-black
