Longer heavy ropes forward and aft, a couple of springs but better still get away from the dock and anchor or just dodge head to sea, had to do that a few times, Fishgaurd harbor in Wales was a bit like it.

Snugging up those dock lines would help, but certainly spring lines are needed as well. It might be worth it to walk down the wharf to see how the next boat is tied off and copy that. Yes, the distant one appears to be a larger boat, but not that much larger, and clearly more secure.

It looks to me that it would be better to leave the dock and maybe find a sheltered anchorage

More fenders please!!! Ya ever notice how Split, Dubrovnik, Venice and others in and around the Adriatic all horizontal concrete docks for smaller boats? There is a good reason for piles on the outside of docks!

A polyamide line (nylon) of 16mm minimum attached at port side on the aft and fore bollards, then a long line attached to the middle of this line connected at a heavy line at an anchor set out away at port side would 've given a lot of tolerance. Better anticipate and move the boat at the leeside of the island

It always amazes me that even experienced sailors manhandle their boats by gripping the top of stanchions. The leverage exerted by gripping the top of the stanchion puts excessive strain on the stanchion. Why not grip the stanchion at its lowest point and get rid of that leverage and excess strain on the stanchion base. Particularly important on boats where the stanchions are deck through bolted. The seals will be compromised sooner than necessary. Sad to see that boat getting hammered and so poorly tied to the dock.

This boat was not properly tied to the dock, too much movement back and forth. The stern line should have been further away catching the next dock cleat.🤷‍♂️

A spring line or two attached amidships and secured to the bollards probably would help. Note how the boat is hobby horsing and the point where the guy is pushing is hardly moving up and down. With the many fenders up against the wharf, the bow line could be shortened. The goal is to prevent the bow and stern from hitting the pier.

Another method would be to take an anchor out to windward and pull the boat off the wall

This is a ca. 13 tonne boat getting tossed around having moored-up badly on a lee-shore. A. it should not be there - should have gone elsewhere; B. if there, should have 6 mooring warps (bow line, stern line, 2 x springs, 2 x long bow/stern lines.

Nice footage! Is it possible for me to use and share this footage on my youtube page? I share footage from all kind of activities on our ocean. Cargo ships in the 1960s till now, oil rigs, fishing vessels, etc. Of course full credit will be given to the owner of the footage. Looking forward to your reply. Kind regards.

A warp 40 meters long from the back to the dock cleat further windwards - in this wind angle - will keep the boat twinty feet from the wall. The dutchman trick!

Standing there pushing the boat of what is the point? Check your lines for starters.

How it ends if you have no clue what a spring line is....

This looks like an insurance claim in the making, all because the yacht has not been secured properly and in accordance with the conditions.
