As an Irish person I genuinely think most people were just admiring your style and beauty! But it’s your experience and feelings!

I’m so happy my travel experience to Ireland was pleasant. I was traveling with two caucasian (redhead and a brunette) friends but I ventured on my own enough and still had a great time. The plate with mashed potatoes AND french fries was a little weird but still good. I’d go back when they bring back the nonstop between DFW and DUB.

I am a black American woman who lives in Ireland and have had some experiences myself. I experience white people in Ireland skipping me in line sometimes. And on the staring, I also get stared at depending on how I am dressed/look. Whenever I wear nice clothing or am trying to be stylish, I definitely get stares and whenever I dress down, no one looks at me. Sometimes, people refuse to look me in the eye when I talk to them and sometimes I get rudeness. So yes, Ireland is a mixed bag.

I am genuinely disappointed that I didn't 'bump' into you in Galway. You are a fun crew! In the past 25 years, very welcome migrants have made Ireland their new home and a lot of nationalities are employed in the hospitality sector, as in a lot of other countries. My point is, that when you travel to Ireland in the 21st century you experience a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, globalization experience. Ireland is undergoing dramatic change. It is now impossible to assume that when you interact with someone that English is their first language. All good, all positive! Love, laugh, live!

Lol thanks you. I'm doing a solo trip to Dublin next mont, and this was very helpful. Were there any other restaurants that you would suggest?

It would be rude not to appreciate beauty, it's just the way we are brought up.

My father is African American, and my mother is Irish. My brothers and I were born and raised in Dublin. My dad has been living here since the 1980s. I've never experienced any hostility. However, that being said, i wouldn't expect my experience to be the same as a tourist or settler. I come from an area where almost everyone is related to me through my grandfather or grandmother. The fact my brothers and I inherited our fathers 6ft 5 (We eange from 6ft3-6ft7) frame may have contributed to the lack of bullying. All in all, Ireland is a fantastic country. Wouldn't choose to raise my children anywhere else

loved your view on Ireland, it might have been because there were 3 of you. I have been to Ireland twice now and I think Ireland is for both young and family travelers. first visit was with six other females and we partied a lot, so I definitely agree that it is for the young or young at heart as travelers. But my second time it was just me and my, at the time, four-year-old, so about a year or so ago. It's just that the trip has to have a different focus such as searching for leprechauns and going to the dead museum. Also, my first trip was over ten years ago, and I did not see a lot of Black faces or Brown faces. but this second trip it was a lot more different cultures that actually lived there. so, the change of different cultures living in Ireland could also contribute to your experience.

Apology for you not being treated good in the Brazilian restaurant, tell me this why didn't you try a Irish restaurant you would've been treated much better than in a foreign restaurant.
Irish people are genuinely welcoming your beauty may have blown the people away with your beauty.

I wish the woman in the green would've stopped interrupting the woman in red. The conversation would've flowed better.

It has nothing to do with race. We Americans go too fast and don't know any different. They don't expect to turn the tables. They expect you're going to stay for hours, enjoy a meal leisurely, have drinks and hours of conversation. I've done 70 countries, living, working and extended travel. Keep going! At least you're experiencing other countries and cultures. Most Americans do not.
