Waitress In Concert

In 2017, Sara Bareilles gave students from her alma mater, UCLA, permission to perform Waitress: In Concert, a condensed form of the hit broadway show! The cast is now mostly graduated, many currently working in LA and NY in musical theatre. Cast instagrams are below!

How am I just now discovering this?! WOW!! What a creative and unique take on my favorite musical. It blew me away. Maeve Riley is OUTSTANDING and, honestly, better than some of the actresses who have played Jenna professionally. Admittedly, I uphold Jessie Mueller as the ultimate best, but I cannot wait to see Maeve perform the role again sometime in the future (hopefully, Broadway)!! Absolutely incredible all around!!!

there is NOT ONE BAD ACTOR IN THIS PRODUCTION. y’all are incredible. you did an AMAZING job, truly. and this is just a concert!!! imagine if you’d had the rights to the whole book....damn. this was insane. y’all should be SO proud of yourselves. wow!!!

The only thing I'm disappointed about is not finding this back in 2017. This seriously would've been the perfect replacement cast for the original Broadway production, or one of the tours... I've honestly yet to find anyone that has played Jenna after Jessie Mueller that could really compare, but Maeve it!!! I hope you all get some sort of full circle moment where when they do a revival in a few years on Broadway (or off-Broadway) you get a chance to do the full production!
