A Christmas concert by the Grimethorpe Colliery Band - "the finest jewel in the world of brass bands". With concert footage recorded during December 2019, Grimethorpe Band will take viewers into the sound world of true seasonal brass band music. Traditional carols, a brilliant soloist, music from films, original brass repertoire and even a hint of Brassed Off! This performance has everything.

2020 has been a difficult year for all arts-based institutions and Grimethorpe is no different. This is the most difficult year the band has faced since the pit closure in 1992. GCB are not a sponsored band, receiving no income from sources other than concerts and the sheer number of cancelled events has made day to day life for the organisation very difficult.

This will help the band to continue to pay its basic overheads and ensure we can make our premises Covid secure. Hopefully the sound of brass music can return to Grimethorpe village once again and we can return to performing concerts just like the one above. Many thanks for watching and we appreciate all of your support. Merry Christmas and we wish everyone the prospect of a better year in 2021!!
