Arched back -- for sure. Always. But I think the squatting down at the end of the strike can be huge, both for power and efficiency. When you bend your knees at the last second, you're letting gravity do the hard work in accelerating the head of that hammer. I think the argument is really how much of a squat is necessary, typically a very small knee bend will account for a lot of power. The way you're doing it around 2:45 seems absolutely perfect. Another element with the knee bend / squat is simply that the amount depends on the height of what you're hammering. With something low or even flush to the ground, a deeper knee bend is obviously going to help with alignment and power.

I was taught this method years ago and it works so well. Everyone I’ve seen use a sledgehammer on TV holds it like a tennis racquet and it drives me bonkers as it looks so inefficient. Cheers!

Hands at the bottom of the handle is the way to go. It's easier to get into an efficient rhythm.

I used to swing a sledge hammer every day for the first 4 years of my career. I am skilled enough to swing a sledge hammer accurately and powerfully with only one hand at the end of the handle. This is not how I swing at all. This looks to be a very novice technique. I keep both hands at the very end of the hammer for the entire swing. And the hammer starts in front of me and makes a complete circle above my head before making contact. This chopping style looks like it would take much more energy and be much less powerful. Maybe I’ll make a similar video with my technique.

I pretty much knew the basics but this has shown me things that I've done wrong in the past where I have injured my back trying to hold my hand by the head.
