2020+ Ford Explorer with Thule Rapid Crossroad WingBar EVO Roof Rack Crossbars

This complete multi-purpose base roof rack is the perfect fit for the FORD Explorer 2020+ with raised rails that run front to back on the outer edges of the roof. The fit includes models equipped with a sunroof. The system includes two load bars and four feet as detailed below. The low profile Thule 450R Rapid Crossroad has rubber bases that rest directly on the side rail, the foot adds only 2.5 inches of height above the side rail and provides maximum load capacity above and beyond the width of the side rails. A thin, rubberized stainless steel band wraps under the vehicle's side rail for a strong protective grip.

The Thule 450R Rapid Crossroad foot is easy to assemble and install. Slide the foot into the load bar, then wrap the band around the side rail, tighten by turning the integrated handle with built-in hex wrench, no additional tools are needed. The one fastener tightens the band to the vehicle's raised side rail and tightens the foot to the load bar simultaneously.

The Thule WingBar EVO load bars are strong, quiet and aerodynamic providing maximum capacity, no whistling or howling and low wind drag. The advanced aluminum BoxBeam construction has dedicated slots for foot attachment and a separate t-slot tracks for mounting compatible carriers.

The weight capacity for this base roof rack is 165 pounds evenly distributed. The load bar length is 60 inches plus 1-3/4 inches for both end caps (total 54-3/4 inches). It can carry 165LBS when though Ford says 75LBS? Because if that is true, I am running to Rack Attack tomorrow.

How come my Rapid fire 450R doesn’t fit on the back? The strap is too thick to be inserted in the rack (the space between rack and roof is lower on the back vs front on the new Explorer)? Thanks

How do you install the 450Rs on the back half of the factory rails? I cannot get the rubber part through the hole between the rail and the top of the Explorer?
