I had a vw cc for a while and that cylinder 1 misfire was fun. My fix that ended it was replacing the crank case ventilator. When i took it off some of the walls inside it were cracked. How that caused the misfire, limp mode, and chewing through ignition coils I don't know. Was replacing the coils atleast every 2 weeks, since replacing that part its been 3 years with no issue.

And thats why i stand by the 2.5. To me, its next to be more reliable, easy to work on since the 2.0, and the 2.0 was butter, didnt make any power, but it was flat out reliable

Hey on the cooling system topic, I've heard that bag of beads in the overflow likes to tear and clog the heater core so people are removing that bag. Can you give your 2 cents on what to do here? MUCH APPRECIATED!

You do not need to take the bolt off for the water pump belt. You do not need to take off the sprocket. You can slide the belt on and off. I can tell you how

Literally any time I have a customer call me with a VAG 2.0L saying they’re leaking coolant I automatically assume it’s that dogshit water pump 😂

I just had the thermostat replaced on my 2021 GTI. Only 30, 000 miles and they said the thermostat was stuck closed! Doesn't exactly inspire confidence going forward...

So the car didn’t need a new engine. The other shop lied about the cylinder damage? I’m curious if they even looked or just guessed cause it’s odd to say cylinder damage and there not be any.
