The smaller one works a lot better. The music is more audible. Plus, you can make angel hair with the original, the smaller and red one.

Cooking with Jack had another timer and it was even worse. It appears that you have to taste the pasta to find out if it is done to your taste. I prefer al dente pasta, but hey some may like mush.

LOL! I just got one at Goodwill and thought "this is the stupidest thing ever but will make a great funny gift at some point. Why would you cook you food with a plastic + electronic thing in it??? IYou can just use a timer... Anyhow, I wanted to see how it works but wanted to leave the package intact, and here I go! BTW, am Italian: do not mess with my pasta! If it sticks it's done???? and no, not all pasta cooks in eight minutes.... and the Italian accent is quite offensive and annoying
