Every time I listen to this, I just think about how me and my brother used to watch this as kids, we were so excited for every episode to come out. I learned empathy from this show. Now it makes me think about how fast life goes. Being a little kid feels like a while ago. Makes me want to cry my eyes out about everything that I miss and how scared I am of the future. How much I miss the old days.

I don’t know much at all about Steven Universe. I’ve seen it a few times on Cartoon Network when I was a young teenager, but I never really got into it.

That being said, just a few minutes ago, I heard this song on an ad on Instagram of all places. I recognized the melody from Steven Universe, and while I’m not a fan of the show (I don’t dislike it, it’s just not my thing), I was instantly overcome with emotion hearing it.

I’m clinically depressed, and to be frank, suicidal quite often. I often find myself sitting out in the dark with headphones on, as I am right now, while listening to emotional music - mostly from video game soundtracks.

I just wanted to feel something. Some sort of emotion. And this, a remix of a theme song from a kids’ cartoon, was the last thing that I’d expect to evoke that emotion. But yet, here I am.
