Well, I hope you enjoy that weird "glitch" I encountered. I was flabbergasted. 😂
UPDATE: @DongleBookPro helped me figure out why the scrolling felt off. Despite the internals being made of more expensive (yet still quality) components, there is no stabilization on the scroll wheel. We compared it to a $10 mouse (with a much nicer scroll wheel) and the cheaper mouse had an extra plastic component to stabilize the wheel. Huh. The more you know.

Jittery mouse probably due to MagSafe charger's shiny surface, not due to magnets in it. Some optical mice are unable to track on shiny surfaces.

11:40 That's not a problem with wheels in general. macOS has poor mouse scroll support so any mouse (apart from the Magic Mouse, since it has gestures) will not feel smooth when scrolling. If you install a tool called SmoothScroll, it will restore smoothness to your scroll wheel.

Its not the magnet! Its the metal ring on that charger that reflects the laser in a weird way. The sensor thinks its moving. If it was from the magnet it would still do it after blocking the sensor.

The Wheel-Click is supposed to be heavier, it's so you don't accidentally middle click when you're spinning the wheel.

Hi Ken! Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
We believe that there is always room for improvement, hence we always appreciate healthy criticism and feedback!

Yes, some users might need some time to adjust to our mouse, and to help them, we've developed accessory grips for hands that need that extra support. And we will continue to expand our product collection with accessories for the Pointer; for example, currently, we are working on a side-buttons 'add-on' for the mouse (followed by a wireless charger and a keyboard to get that complete set).

Your honest review is much appreciated! 🙂

I originally said this in the community post regarding this Pointer Instrument:
"Instant nope. The gold is gaudy, the leather might nullify the tactile click, and no mouse should be priced that high"

I am seriously impressed by this. It's not over-the-top -gold- brass, it seems the click isn't affected by the leather, and the inclusion of wireless charging, wired mode, and has excellent repairablity!

I take my words back. This Pointer Instrument ticks a lot of boxes. Ergonomics and price are the only questionable things.

Kinda funny to compare it against a Magic Mouse, versus every other "normal" mouse lol. personally I've never like the magic mice much.

also the brown leather makes it feel like a set piece for Technology Connections lol

Honestly... not as bad as "Caviar" with their "LOL WE'RE OVERPRICING A NORMAL PHONE WITH FANCY STUFF"

There are a few things that leave me questioning if this mouse it worth it. First of, it looks like the "brass" body isn't actually brass with this particular mouse. Looking on the inside of it during the disassembly, it looks to be stamped aluminum that's been anodized or otherwise gilded. Could be the lighting in this video, but I swear that I saw raw aluminum on the inside. If I ordered brass, I'd expect solid brass like they tout on their Kickstarter page.

Second, all the expensive "gamer" mice out there tout having 15000+ DPI sensors, have better quality switches and scroll wheels, etc. This mouse only has an 800-3000 DPI sensor, so that would result in less precise movement with large (4K or 8K) resolution displays. The scroll wheel appears to be straight out of a $20 budget mouse as well. So much for a premium fit and finish...

Although I really do respect and admire the aesthetics of this "Pointer Instrument", I'll just stick with a gaming mouse or Magic Trackpad for my needs.

Looks like a mouse DIYPerks would make!

It's so weird seeing a mouse review comparing a normal mouse to the magic mouse

Wonder what the leather on the buttons will look like after some use…

With regards to the pointer glitch, It's most likely the surface of the charger that's causing it.

I believe it's called padded diamond pattern leather. Typically used in furniture from the classical era.

The shape of that mouse is reminiscent of the old Razer Boomslang mouse. It seems like a pretty sweet mouse, but looks heavy. The trend these days is lighter mice.

I'd love to see mice with trackball scroll-wheels

All these videos Ken! You’re spoiling us!

Love it! Keep it coming, but take breaks! :D

I question the use of leather on a surface that will be subjected to skin oil and possibly sweat on a daily basis.

one *could* do a small trackball-type deal or fingerstick for multi-directional scrolling instead of a one-directional wheel or touch device, could probably even still go with a brassy/aluminum finish and fit the aesthetic
