Here are a few shots of some of the exhibits at the National Museum of the Marine Corps located just outside Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia. The museum is open to the public and if YOU are a Marine I highly encourage you to make the pilgrimage here sometime during your career/life time to immerse yourself in our history. SEMPER FIDELIS!

Thanks for the tour, Gunny. Pretty sobering taking in the journey of the USMC’s history. The incredible quality of the dioramas reminds me of the WWII History Museum in NOLA.

The simulated marksmen trainer is one of my favorite things in there for a 5 dollar fee it's very very fun. Also the Korea Vietnam and medal of Honor sections are very well put together. For anyone in the area the Marine corps museum is a must.

I was there last August for one of my old junior Marines who went to OCS as a SSgt. He asked me to render his first salute as an officer, and I couldn’t refuse. We went to the Museum afterwards. I’ve been out since 2009. It was like returning home.

Awesome looking place. If you ever find yourself in Georgia around the Ft. Benning area, I highly recommend the National Infantry Museum, it's the army's version but very much like this and has amazing displays and a good restaurant as well. As always great video, I would love to visit this museum sometime and check it out.

A truly awesome museum. Every American needs to see this. I live about 30 minutes away and work 10 minutes away. This place has an amazing display of American history.

I'd love to go there.
Been to the National Museum of the USAF in Dayton, Oh & the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum in Savannah Ga. Both well worth it.
If you get out this way, make a trip to the Silent Wings Museum in Lubbock (gliders & crews of WWII).
Great video.

Absolutely amazing. All of that history... If they would have taught history using stuff like that when I was in school I would have been an A student. Thanks for that amazing video!

Wow, what an amazing museum! Really enjoyed seeing each different era. I especially liked the Korean War Pershing tank. The Pershings of the 1st Marine Tank Battalion were instrumental in stabilizing the Pusan Perimeter in August, 1950. After a month of hard fighting, the entire 1st Marine Provisional Brigade was loaded onto ships and led the assault on Inchon on September 15. Thanks very much for sharing this great video, Brent!

This is a great video Brent. Having just finished reading General Holland "Howling Mad" Smith's book Coral and Brass I could definitely relate to what I saw here WRT the Pacific where my father served as a Marine interpreter with 3rd battalion 22nd Marines 6th Division. One thing that impressed me was General Smith's efforts to get the brass to understand what the Marines really are and what is needed to make an effective amphibious force. The Higgins boat was the key to those landings though the Ducks were key prior to that and especially so on Tarawa. Smith was impressive and loved his Corp and his Marines. May this nation always work to live up to all that you Marines pay such a dear price to defend. God bless you all! Semper Fi!
