Holy crap, we knew you're a kick ass sound engineer, but you're one hell of a musician too! Great song!!!!

I love the 441! I feel like it’s kinda forgotten about. If people could keep forgetting until I’ve purchased a bunch second hand that would be awesome… 👀

Brilliant way to share your thoughts on a mic...from inspiration to create music. Great song, too.

Great, really well done video. I've wondered about these mics forever, and this was a really good review of one. All the sources sounded really good.

Great song! I've only had the occasion to use a 441 once but it is indeed very nice on snare. It's on my wishlist for hopefully in the not-too-distant future.

Thanks! Great stuff. Also learned something: I always used with high boost and somehow overlooked that it can be - and probably should be - turned off when doing studio recording. But 441 absolutely one of my favorites.

First off that song fucking slaps!

Now to watch the rest of the video 😂

Ok done: so i really liked it on your voice and guitar. Kick felt a bit weak and pillow-y, but i can see a use case for that. snare was not as punchy and snare like as i go for, but it could also have been the snare itself. That being said at the price point not sure it is really worth it, as i can think of a lot cheaper mics that can do similar stuff, but not all of it. so if i had the money I’d probably get a couple to have in the studio. But cheaper dynamics would be my go to. I’m sure there’s other sources it works great on. Definitely a workhorse mic though and that means something and I can see why people dig it.

One of my all time favourite mics! There are four mics I always take with me to gigs (doing a lot of live sound), MD441, M160 (a set of two), DPA 4099 (usually carrying three of these) and AKG D12vr. With those and anything supplied by the venues/rental companies I can get through just about anything.
The MD441 is my favourite dynamic vocal mic, but most times I tend to put it on some instrument because not many singers seem to feel at home with it in a live environment.

441s sound INCREDIBLE on snare, but they're so freaking huge that positioning is always a problem. I wish someone made a right angle adapter for it like the Grenelli 57. In the mean time, my Telefunken m80sh is working quite nicely. KILLER SONG btw!
