Sol makes a nice one of those that are built tougher and more shelter able without worrying about it ripping while you're sleeping.
It's still cool on the level of emergency and it's light and roomy so it takes very little space.

I've slept with a combination of an emergency blanket and a sleeping bag. It's nigh impossible to not get wet from the condensation on the inside of the emergency blanket. This one has only the top hole for ventilation so I imagine condensation will be an even bigger problem. Once your bag gets wet you're in trouble

Here's a good improvement to this bivvy... just add hoody and sleeves for both arms and you got yo self a warm bivvy that you can keep warm in and be mobile. Being mobile and warm is an extra plus when it comes to cold weather survival. ..dunno, might get stuck somewhere in the winter time. Great vids, ima fan👍😎

Mylar is great! I use cheep stuff taped to windows. As curtain. Can still open and close sliders

You forgot to mention the reflective side can also help keep you cool in a hotter climate.

I like the idea of a emergency bivy sac but if you ever worn a paper thin windbreaker or used one of these in cold weather you know cold transfers through the material. I'm sure it helps but... Bivy sacs are better used as a wind breaker/rain block on top of a sleeping bag.

In Australia our standard shock blanket in a first aid kit is 1 metre (about1 yard 4 inches) square. I guess coz it barely snows anywhere here.

Cool but show us how to put it back in the bag after you use it, I've used them before in legit situations where I would of been worse off than just a couple dark fingertips and have never been able to put them away correctly for another possible bad night
