Its like with Vocaloid. The appeal of Vocaloid was that it was distinguishable from a human voice and it became so popular that next versions actually tried to preserve the synthetic sound in there while improving the quality.

The uncanny valley doesn't just apply to physical aesthetics - as Neuro-sama (or other AI) becomes more realistic, there's going to be a natural apprehension toward her.

I think it will be a really endearing journey to see Neuro slowly develop an actual personality and start actually remembering stuff like who's her mum and dad and such.
She seems to remember some things but if I had to wager that's some clever workaround by Vedal, she's not actually developing long term memory since I don't think that's necessarily possible to do rn with large language models.

If its anything like the 3D animation world then it will never go past the point of being uncanny in the first place so its hard to say how long it will be until we actually get to that point even if the technology is capable of achieving it, it will be a long road until designers and artist will make it work.
