Followed this car since its beginning. Glad you've kept it looking the same and didnt boost the SR20VE. Has beautiful patina.

Nice 510. Love that he kept the patina. You can't buy that back.
p.s. just a thought. Moving the camera around so much makes it quite hard to watch.

I respect he has it NA, beautiful car. I had a 2001 Sentra 2.0, loved that engine, but like many Ontario cars rust was the death of the car 💔.

What's that in your shop, a Ratson 510 road-ent? Hide your wallet man, those things eat money! Looks and sounds like a well sorted SR swap guys. I'm not a fan of blinging out a classic so I'm psyched you're maintaining that old school look and hiding the modern drivetrain under the hood. You'll shock the shit out of some folks with that setup. Something about side drafts on a four banger, sounds so damn real I can almost smell the gas fumes through my screen. Also cool to see those velocity stacks hanging off the wide twin cam head. Reminds me of the Skyline GT-R Hakosukas. Sure a Gen 2 GT-X2867R will make 400+ hp on an SR, but these days everybody and their sister has a DET. Drive that thing like you stole it cuz 200 rwhp is serious shit kick'n fun in a little 510. Keep the updates coming on your dime and if you ever get the bug to go turbo, look me up. Happy to share my experience.

I sort of get the 'original finish' line of thought, but if I got the car THIS far and was happy with it, I'd have a hard time resisting getting a real nice new paint job on it too.

I bought a Datsun 610. It was at a Pontiac dealership. That was when American dealers d id not want foreign cars on their lot.

Not that anyone cares, but the headlights are reversed. The BMW ellipsoid headlights are the low beam on the outside. I'm sure it's set up to work correctly either way, but worth mentioning.

Bro take it from me. Go turbo. Just contact me and I’ll tell you which turbo that will satisfy you for years to come. You won’t regret it. You said 200 whp. Try 400 to 500 whp in this car it’s so much fun! I’ve had two sr20det 510’s. If that is a VVL motor and you boost it, you will be able to rev it to insane levels!

This car is almost exactly the same/parts as when the guy in california had it. Essentially that dude did most of the work lol

Couldn't watch more than half of this. Great looking car. Love the retro vibe and the modern driveline mashup (this is much how I will build mine when I start)...but the camera work is horrific! Could not focus on any one part to see what tricks and tips to consider, and quite frankly, my eyes hurt after about 3 minutes. If you're reading this, please redo this vid and find someone with a steady hand.
