Chinese foreign ministry said Beijing will not change its position that Taiwan is part of China, after pro-independence party candidate President Tsai Ing-wen won re-election. Beijing’s Taiwan Affairs Office also said the country opposes any acts for Taiwan independence.Hours earlier, Tsai Ing-wen said in her victory speech that she would not submit to China’s threats.Meanwhile, to many anti-government protesters in Hong Kong, Tsai’s landslide victory is a boost to their movement.
