A 1980 Gem. Big AC #1 that scored on the Top 40 and Country Charts. A sweet early decade duet.

I don't know why Susan Anton popped into my head last week but it's leading me down a fun rabbit hole of discoveries including this!

Years ago, I bought a KTel album just because it had this song on it.

This was Susan's only Top 40 pop chart during the winter of 1980-81

Fred Knoblock had a TV special and Susan Anton was on it back in 1980. Besides singing a song with him, I think she also played the woman in the song "Why Not Me" in the special.

To perform at the Republican National convention in 1980 and then have a hit song paying tribute to one-night stands (as Susan Anton did here) must have made Jerry Fallwell very angry. And, though I thought differently at the time (I was just a senior at an all-Catholic boys high school in 1980-1981), the line she sings in the chorus, "Time enough to touch each other, " I now realize should be understood literally.

Now I know of three actresses who really can sing. Susan Anton, Cheryl Ladd from Charlie's Angels, and Rebecca Holden from Knight Rider.
