What is Coffin Corner? | Why is Coffin Corner Dangerous?

Hi. In this video we look at what is meant by coffin corner in aviation. We see how this corner comes into effect where an aircraft may enter into low speed stall if the speed reduces or enters into shock buffet and lose altitude if the speed increases.
This occurs at very high altitudes because of the variation of stall speed and maximum operating mach number with altitude.

Minor correction: mmo is comprised between Mcrit and Md : divergent mach number, mmo is not smaller that mmo. Otherwise there's no need to mach trim that intervene when there's mach tuck due to shoc formation
