I remember this like yesterday.Elton is one of the biggest and best singers in the world.I was just a little kid when this came out.now I am a older lady and this song sings so true.About going out into the world to return to the world you came from and missed for so many yrs.❤❤Oh I found my future life beyond the yellow brick road.I turned around just to go back to where i came from.

Dad was a Vietnam vet and loved so many different styles of music, Mom loved soft rock, disco, and country. Elton John was a huge part of all our lives. I can remember house parties and sitting by the fire roasting marshmallows in the wintertime in our backyard with Bose old school speakers broadcasting this through our property in Northwestern Montana. Everyone would stay over and youd wake up and all the women would be cooking for like 30 people. Amazing memories and i cherish this song becuz im the only one left now.
