That's only works when the key is order from dealer or program with an aftermarket programmer then you can teach-in the key like he is doing in

HI! I have a 2007 CLK 350, got a new key programmed by Mercedes, doors will open lights blink, trunk opens, but key will not move from position 1 and I get this message: key is being programmed please wait, what now? Left key in over night, still key wont move! thanks!

I was told if the battery is taken out of the car the whole Mercedes computer is deprogrammed like the key? My 1998 c280 key was completely deprogrammed. Can you please call me to discuss my problem and mail in my car parts from California please. thank you very much!
