Godot should praise you, youve done prob the most impresive job in godot. There isnt any game that ive seen that comes anywhere close to what youve done. Great job buddy.

The atmosphere of the game keeps getting better and better. All the dynamic stuff was very cool, but damn the seasonal shift in real time takes the cake, so cool. Keep up the great work! :)

A variation on ambient volumetric lighting, with some ambient occlusion tuning could help a lot to fight the sporadic flat lighting you showcased.
Also pleased to hear that performance is still a key metric you are considering during development.

Can we all just appreciate how he says "at first I was going to do this thing in a simple way, but realized I am committing to this other dynamic thing, so I'm making the simple thing dynamic" just constantly improving the game and constantly earning higher respect from the community.

The mood of all the different weather effects with the overcast lighting was incredible

I have been following this off & on since your first video, how the baby has grown. Each devlog is another birthday, 12 already! Its just like your channel, growing up fast. Keep it up my man! (lets hope my computer doesn't crash!)

Personally up until now i was using a mod to change the time of day and weather only when transitioning to another map. So happy you decided to use dynamic cycle and getting no performance issues with it

IMO the supposedly "flat" looking TOD is a very welcome look in games. I'd go for realism in that case. Great to see the progress, banger feature highlight!

I just want to say, I appreciate devs like you who actually acre about performance optimisations and keeping everything in the frame time budgets, most people wouldn't even give this a thought, but it is very important!

Looks pretty good. I'd say that the full moon on a clear sky should produce a slightly brighter environment though. This also leaves room for "brightness scaling" with overcast nights being darker

Edit:
Also with a clear sky full moon in winter I'd say it should be even brighter

Astonishing work as always, Antti! Seeing your progress always reignites my excitement for this project.

Small gripe, but it would be cool if stars and other stellar objects (if there are any others) would also move with the day & night cycle instead of staying completely still so that it looks like earth itself is actually rotating like its supposed to

Moon itself could also use some detail, like phases, variable brightness and occlusion by clouds partial or otherwise

the weather and seasonal effects are incredible. I haven't seen any Vostok videos since very early alpha like a year ago, and it really has improved. kudos dude

This is becoming much more than a survival game. It's a whole world. I'd be surprised if not every single realistic game from now on will want to use your stuff. Incredible!

By far the most ambitious godot project so far. Keep kicking ass!
