Join me as I do a 45 minute hike of the Mast Trail in Rouge National Urban Park.

The gorgeous park hugs rouge river, the entrance to this trail is a long Kingston Road between Scarborough and Pickering at the Glen Rouge Campground entrance.

I am super fortunate this is just a 5 minute drive from my house!

There’s about a minute walk along the river, where it is lined with wildflowers at this time of year, then, to enter the trail, you have to climb up quite a steep set of stairs… I find this the most challenging part of the walk.

The rest of the trail - if you do the Mast Loop is through old growth forest with a lovely high tree canopy. There’s some gentle hills and valleys along the trail but it’s pretty easy. You can do some other trails that will take you further into the Rouge Valley.
