Yamaha artist Satoshi Bandoh plays Live Custom Hybrid Oak. Yamaha has enhanced the dynamic range of the new Live Custom kits by accentuating their attack and projection. The new 7 ply Oak/Phenolic sheet hybrid shell and the Bass Enhancement Weight delivers massive power and articulation especially for playing in live situations. Also the new finishing technique based on traditional Japanese "UZUKURI" process emphasizes the natural beauty of the Oak grain. All drum sound was recorded with Steinberg AXR4T Thunderbolt 2 audio interface.

Bought a kit... man... ! oh god, more that you would expect ! projection, tone, body and warmth... I have played many different brands/kits, but this one makes the difference ! Thanks Yamaha !

Awesome! Sound dynamics and all- don’t forget the mic setup, I think the audio tech did a great job mic placements in all kit, cymbals etc. Great mix I hear all from bass to sparkly chimes!

I worked at a guitar center for years. Everyone thought Yamaha had some of the best tone overall, and there hardware was the sturdiest.

I’m not sure who at Yamaha thought this up, but the inner sheet of synthetic phenolic polymer that’s line on the inner part of the drums makes these sound so amazing. Plus this drummer has a very good tune ability when it comes to his kits. But Yamaha didn’t want it to be such a big deal when tuning the kit. I’ve heard a 5 piece (same color, just less drums) and they sounded AMAZING! I prefer the clear heads as this gentlemen has but the kit I heard at Jack Rabbits by some local band before this COVID stuff happened blew my mind as I wanted a Mapex Black Panther blaster set... but now I’m definitely expanding my horizons.
