Being a beginner to intermediate surfer has a few difficult hurdles, one being learning how to read and catch the correct waves. Surfing takes longer to progress in compared to any surf and the main reason is because it takes a long time to understand how to read the ocean and waves. Follow these steps for faster and easier progress for your surfing.

Good tip on lining yourself up with landmarks. Keeps you in the right spot in the lineup and when there are rip tides/currents then at least you can adjust accordingly.

Thanks for this, best video I've seen on reading waves. The part about seeing the crease/bump that makes the wave disappear, could you make a video about spotting that/knowing which waves will be mushy or fat?

These videos are soooo helpful! I love seeing the videos and hearing you talk about the waves. Wave selection is something I'm still learning and struggling with so this is really helpful! More of this! haha

Two topics I find very difficult, Surfboard finns, and shapes of the surfboards, I am aware about if u are still not able to ride waves on a good manner I can not see the differences how the impact will be on different shapes of the surfboard. Regarding to Surf finns, longer fins? shorter fins? what about the shape of finns?
