How big is China's gaming industry?

China’s gamer-base is huge. But a large proportion of them still remain invisible to the rest of the world as they mostly reside within China’s tightly controlled internet. Meanwhile, China’s Tencent has quietly become the world’s largest gaming company and it rivals Facebook in being the world’s fifth largest by market cap. If you game at all, chances are you have played games owned wholly or in part by Tencent.
