Godparent to Dev Dimmadome, Peri wants to help turn his life around and earn his dad's approval, but will Peri's own lack of communication with Cosmo and Wanda cause him to be a bad influence? A villain?! And what can Hazel do to mend this fairy family? Let's breakdown Poof's new design, his new name and what his role in the series could be!

I can imagine that Poof falling out with his parents probably has something to do with Timmy. Timmy was there from the very beginning of Poof's life. He's the reason WHY he exists, but Timmy had to grow up and I can imagine that was hard for Poof to take. Cosmo and Wanda had to say goodbye to many god kids, but not Poof. He can't even see his godbrother anymore.

Another issue that would’ve lead Pari/poof to act like this is the fact that the person he saw as a big brother doesn’t remember him anymore so I hope they bring that up in the show at some point

Honestly, He’s kind of giving me golden child vibes. I mean, Poof was the ONLY child fairy. Try and tell me that kid wasn’t spoiled all to hell by the others growing up.

I mean, it could be that Poof/Peri hasn't changed his name legally (yet), and is legally obligated to say his name, but proceeds to say what name he prefers to be referred as afterwards.

I can see Poof/Peri unintentionally making things worse for Dev on the basis that he still must be new to god parenting. He simply doesn't have the experience or wisdom that other fairies have, and that'll almost certainly play a role in his dynamic with Dev.

I really like the design of a grown up poof. He has such a great mix of the characteristics of Cosmo and Wanda. I hope he isn’t a villain or antagonist of any sort. Didn’t think the word Poof was a slur doesn’t even sound or look like a word that would be a slur. Peri is still a nice name I suppose.

Ngl, Butch Hartman naming the baby born out of mpreg a homophobic slur has the same energy as Lovecraft naming his black cat...well that. Also the periwinkle joke aside, "Peri" is also indonesian for Fairy

That aside, I find it funny Poof went from hated to beloved in like the span of 15 minutes. New Wish is certainly in a speedrun to redeem the franchise. My fave part is his wand. Love how as an adult the rattle translate into a scepter, and being so powerful on his debut (and being the son of a throne and a power), having an specialized wand like Jurgen makes so much sense

Another source of contention between platypus man and his parents is probably Timmy. I mean, to them, he was just another godkid, albeit the one they stuck with longest, but to him, that was his big brother, someone he grew up with and probably idolized, and now he can't even remember him, and Peri probably can't even see him that often

I feel that Peri might initially come off as overbearing because Dev is probably his very first Godkid assignment, and he wants to make his mom and dad proud, but ends up overcompensating in the process.

I remember from the original show fairies aren't allowed to reveal other kids' fairy godparents. You can imagine the tension when Peri realizes his child's friend has his parents as her fairy godparent or vice versa, but they can't reveal it to their assigned child

The suspenders and his presentation makes him look like a salesman trying to sell you something so off the bat he seems suspicious.
