A small addition. Not only is Pierce bad but also Chain, Fork and Split. Because wherever the fuse lands the explosion happens and your explosion ignites the enemy.
I figured this out while playing with a friend and he used Sniper's Mark. I saw explosions everywhere but not on the boss.

This and the TR auto-flask build are the best starters imo just because how easy it is to farm that 6-link fast bow.
