I just beat her and cleared the museum and I thought she has split personality disorder. And I realize she killed her sister based on the stories told by the statues and I feel like she basically adapted that twin sister persona to create her other half. (Having her sister some in some way).

Love your in-depth analysis. Really hope they make a DLC to explore more of the lore. One idea could be how Yang gathered all the bosses and attacked all the schools, acting as sort of a prequel.

Personally, I interpreted her hairstyle in the prologue differently. It reminds me of when there’s a funeral in TV shows and movies and some characters are wearing something black to cover their eyes. If my interpretation’s true, it could be alluding to her sister being dead even before the prologue.

I know im so late I forgot to wake up to soon to catch the bus of the sifu story...

This is what I think of what happened:
Everyone know that kuroki had a twin as we can see in her picture and also... we can se her dad or Mother but for some reason... we can't see his/her face...
I doubt that she did that in case that someone made it into her room to steal the picture...
Now... here is my teory (I don't know if I spelled it well)

Kuroki and her sister maybe hated his dad (I got tired of put dad/mother) for some reason... maybe he did something that both sisters will never forget...
Even that both hate him, kuroki had some mercy for his father... and that something made her unable to kill her father... however... her sister didn't think the same.
She (her sister) started to develope something... something very bad... *the feeling of vengeance* and... one day... he used all her rage into the person who made to develope that to her... her father... she ended up killing her...

Kuroki after noticing that... even that she hated him... she still apreciate him, at least just a bit... and all that sadness... caused her to develope the same thing that her sister developed...

Due that rage and the feeling of revenge the person she appreciated... she challenged to her sister into a fight...

The fight was intense... due the skill of both sisters... it was almost imposible to at least hurt to her opponent... but... due how long was the fight and how tired were after all that... her sister tryied to finish her but she failed... making an opening and letting Kuroki to finish her... and thats what she did...

After stabbing her... and after she saw her sister... falling into the ground... dead... Kuroki didn't feel anything good... just sadness... of probably losing her last loved one... and also that feeling of cometing her most mistake in her life... the vengeance...

After that... she debeloved a trauma and that includes her double personality, thinking that her sister re-borned into her

Now... the only memory she has about her sister... is a photo of her and her father... but she didn't like him and thats why we can't see his face... she just had a small apreciate of him... but nothing much

Obviously this is not confirmed, this is just my teory, you can agree, disagree, I would like to see what do you think and also thank you so much for reading this story, I hope you enjoyed it

Hey djisso, I have a question about shrines. I’m wondering how exactly they carry over from level to level. For example, you play all the way through the game without dying and getting the best shrine upgrades. Then you replay the 3rd level and don’t get any upgrades. What would happen in the 4th and 5th level? Would you keep the upgrades from your best run? Or would you only have the upgrades you got from levels 1 and 2.
