I believe that the chlorine itself represents Tyler's anxieties, depression, and overall struggles with mental health. In Trench, his source of inspiration is heavily alluded to his mental health struggles: "I'm lighter when I'm lower, I'm higher when I'm heavy" as one example. Hence, Tyler could be suggesting that Ned, representing creativity, is only satisfied with his creations when he pours all his negative emotions out, reaches far back into the depths of Dema to source out any inspiration for music he might have. It links to the paradox that Tyler introduces in Trench: creating music helps him to levitate and feel better but in order to create he feels the need to reach into his worst anxieties and emotions in order to pull out that creativity. This would explain why he uses chlorine, because it's toxic in large amounts yet simultaneously cleansing. It also explains why Ned is interested in chlorine specifically. Furthermore, this links to how Tyler seems emotionally and physically drained in the pool at the end. He has poured all his energy and anxieties out and now its too much for him to handle. Ned, his creativity, and even perhaps his fans, are requesting for more music to be made. But all he can give is a little bit of chlorine. Otherwise, he needs to reach back into Dema again, keeping him from progressing his mental health and continuing to be toxic. Perhaps he is revealing how the creative process can be emotionally draining, especially as Tyler sees his mental health as a form of inspiration for this universe he has created.

I thought at the same time that Ned could the fan base itself, Tyler works himself out so much to please and make the fan base happy with these relatable sad style struggling in the music, the chlorine is the content the creativity and the toxicity that the is putting in for the fans, essentially the pool filled with water is like a full length album and Ned is the fan base happy and satisfied with the content that Tyler went through the toxic exhausting creative process for it to be done for the fans to be satisfied, hence the horns growing making the fans satisfied but at the end wanting even more

Ned definitely represents creativity and how difficult it can be to get it to come out. His antlers being used to control the bishop in The Outside music video to destroy the neon gravestones could be interpreted as creativity being how Tyler overcome some of his problems/mental health issues since Nico represents depression and is the strongest bishop. Ned is a representation of how over time his creativity helped him heal, shown by the growing of his antlers. The other Neds in The Outside are likely representative of other peoples current creativity slowly blossoming and how all of their antlers grow at different rates because it takes some people longer to heal

Bro thanks for the info about Ned. I haven’t really seen many people discussing the origin of Ned but Im glad you did. I also have 3 mini theories for ya that might help. The first one is that the person testing Tyler in migraine is Nico. I mean the lyrics are: being tested by a ruthless examiner that’s represented best by my depressing thoughts. Sounds exactly like he’s describing Nico. Second is that the same person is running in the run and go and bounce man and message man. If you listen to lyrics of all of these songs you’ll understand. Hope this helps you connect some dots. I also have another but this one’s pretty obvious. Clancy has to be the message man. Who else would it be?

I'm pretty sure it's also a metaphor for him having to be in a bad state mentally to find inspiration for his music. Writing music while happy is hard for a lor of musicians, therefor it's a common struggle for us. We want to be happy, but it halts our creativity. "Lead is terrible in flavour, but now you double as my paper maker" <- that right there tells me all i need to know.

Bastante bien este video, solo un par de matices.

El cloro (dicho por Mark) son proyectos/ideas en los que están trabajando Tyler y Josh, a veces será bueno y Ned aceptará y otras no porque será mala. Como has mencionado, la relación toxica con el proceso creativo.
Ned significa Neuronal Expansion Device, es decir, un dispositivo que expande y lleva más allá tu mente, como con sus cuernos que puedes controlar cuerpos como el de los obispos en the outisde (gracias a la creatividad puedes destruir Dema), y es por eso que cuando Tyler vuelve a Dema, Ned se pierde y lo intenta llamar y buscar (cartel del videoclip de Choker, letra de Bounce Man, telefono de Shay Away y bosque de Christmas Saves The Year).

También cabe destacar que al fandom a veces se nos refiere como FPE, en el contexto de Ned significa Fine Pool Equipment, el fandom es el que motiva e inspira a veces a Tyler.

Como dato curioso cabe decir que una vez Tyler subió una foto de negro, muy oscura, con Ned en pequeño dando a entender que iba mal escribiendo. Y un tiempo después subió unas historias a instagram con un flitro de corazones, mucha luz azul y con Ned en grande, dando a entender que estaba siendo muy creativo.

On the long sleeve Ts and hoodies, Ned was shown to be an acronym for Neural Expansion Device..plus, what's so bugnuts is I think that stuff was out during the Trench era! So there was no explanation for any of that! Not until the SAI era and the Outside mv!
