it's not that Kirk plays bad, it's just that the American anthem sucks...

You would think that after more than 30 years on stage Kirk Hammett would have developed something akin to decent vibrato.
Fucking hell-it's not that hard and it makes him sound terrible when he rests on a note for any length of time.
It's a sad day when the rhythm guitarist has better control of vibrato than the so called lead guitarist.

Kirk sounds awful these days. I've seen 8 year olds with better vibrato.

The only thing disappointing about this video and I do not blame Metallica at all was the fact that there was a six man color guard on the track and not once were they acknowledged. The Star-Spangled Banner is a song about our nation's flag and the least the cameraman could have done was give the military 3-5 sec of face time so that people would know they were there and that their service is acknowledged. We are descending deeper and deeper into an unpatriotic nation with this new generation. The military and those who sacrifice their time to join should not be the only people who give a damn about that flag.
