Family car review: 2018 Toyota LandCruiser Prado

The Toyota Prado is a big seven-seater with some fantastic BabyDrive features like the conversation mirror so you can keep an eye on the rear passengers without having to turn your head away from the road.

But I was disappointed for such a large car that there were only three top tethers and two ISOFix points, all in the second row, so I couldn’t install child seats in the third row! It always such a shame for large families needing to fit four or five child seats and that so many of these enormous seven-seaters don’t accommodate.

Fitting three child seats in the second-row was a bit of a squeeze too! I was surprised again for such a big car I expected three seats to fit easily but I couldn’t fit three big forward-facing child-seats in. Only two forward facing and a rear facing capsule. It was a much easier fit with just two child seats.

Also, when using all seven seats the boot space was pretty impractical and there was only space for three shopping bags. No strollers fitted, not even the compact ones!

Nice! Of course, I was looking to see the level of comfort for second row seats while driving. That's very important.

Really good to see a review of a cars usability. I think manufacturers should actually employ people like you to design their cars...it seems that people with no kids design them sometimes!!

Number one aspect no one was talking about here is missing. As a father of two kids, dog and two strollers I could truly recommend this car only for one reason, whereas other reasons are also following. Car is indestructable from inside. Nor for kids nor for the dog. Coffees are being spilled. Seat upholstery is going to be torn. Food is going between the seats. But the car remains strong standing. Even the roof lining is difficult to rip apart.

As far as it concerns Prado, car is still like new despite numerous efforts of my gang.

Also the trunk easily fits two strollers and a ridgeback. But thats secondary because toughness if car I would rate primal if dealing with kids. Also good above panoramic view over the traffic cause you sit at least a meter above others.

great review... but kids dont stay in car seats.. not all cars suite teen children.. a great addition to your reviews would be considering how children of diff ages fit.

If you can afford a toyota prado and want more space buy a toyota land cruiser v8 200

Old desing old engine not enough power, the interior looks like cars from the 90's, but a good quality car but there is others out there for the same money who is more funn
