I spoke with Anthony Romero, the executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, the nation's premier defender of civil liberties, about the more than 40 executive orders Donald Trump signed on his first day back in office, what they mean for immigration, the trans community, and what Americans who want to help can do.

Katie, I just can't believe with all your charisma & knowledge that you don't (yet) have easily a million followers! I've been following you a few weeks, and you have the BEST guests! #1 fan here, really loved Mr. Romero's/ACLU point of view on these topics😂❤!!

This was an overwhelmingly informative discussion…just fantastic.

The #ACLU is a vital organization. So many people don’t understand how important it is for upholding the US Constitution thereby, American society.
Thank you #ACLU .

If people are looking for a way to participate in the fight for justice and feel that they don’t know how to…donate to the #ACLU .

I am a naturalized citizen of 48 years and thank God my parents, sister and I came here legally and all of us went through all the legalities necessary to become citizens. I find what’s going on so sad!

It is difficult as an older individual to think I could stand against the deceit and plotting of and such an evil man and administration. I’m truly grateful and thankful to the ACLU for their continued commitment to freedom and democracy.

I feel the same drive to tune out, but I have not done so. I am active on YouTube, trying to educate people about trans individuals in the face of all these lies, distortions, and ignorance. Please, everyone, just as Anthony is encouraging us to do, don't give up defending vulnerable communities. One of the traits of Donald Trump is that he never gives up and counts on his detractors to give up. That's how he wins. Let's show him and the MAGA that we will never give up, just like the ACLU never gives up, just like Katie never gives up.
