When I first heard that denim skirts were coming back into style a few years ago, I was very conflicted. The mere mention of the clothing item gave me embarrassing flashbacks to the early 2000s, when myself and every other girl I knew pranced around in $95 ripped up denim skirts from Abercrombie & Fitch with Ugg boots on our feet. These aren’t the most pleasant style memories! Needless to say, I wasn’t super excited about the return of the denim mini skirt. But now that it’s been a few years, and I’ve seen what they’ve become, I have to admit it: I am so beyond thrilled they’re back, guys. Denim skirts are awesome.

For one thing, the denim skirts of ~today~ are much more chic looking – the button front versions are my personal favorites. They’re a perfect casual wardrobe essential and I firmly believe everyone should have one. They’re also more versatile than you would think – although denim skirts seem like they would only work for spring and summer weather, they actually look just as great in the fall. All you have to do is add some layers, maybe a cute pair of boots, some tights… and you’ve got a really great autumn look.
