In this video I'm going to show you how to fix the dreaded "Enter Parameter Value" error when it pops up on you unexpectedly.

Alison from Madrid, Spain (a Gold Member) asks: My database has been working just fine for months. I made a few changes, and now my order form is giving me this popup that says "Enter Parameter Value" and asking for the ExtPrice, which it's supposed to be calculating in a query. I have no idea what's wrong. Help, please!

Thanks, I almost lost the idea. I went back to check the word and I was wrong in the spelling part. Thanks again for saving my access record!

I deleted an unnecessary field from a table. I removed the field from the related form. I still get the Enter Parameter pop up. The field I deleted is not any where in DB.

This was good. However recently, after a windows/Office update, opening a form with an unbound combo box triggers this enter parameter for the Combo box. I’ve been using this form for over 15 years and can’t figure out what is happening,

What if the parameter field the box is asking for does not exist? I am using one of the templates MS Access offers. Many of the template fields were renames/deleted to better suit my needs. Now im getting the parameter value error but that fields just doesnt exist therefore all criteria fields are currently blank.

Hello, I am having an error in my database where I have a cascading combo box in a form. After selecting from drop downs and closing out of the form to the main menu, I get a parameter error. It's similar to the one you mentioned Forms!... where Access is looking for something. I didn't manually type any code when creating the combo boxes; I used drag and drop and expressions builder wizard. Is there a macro that I can enter into my form that will make this parameter issue go away?
I'm am truly stuck.
Thank you.

I wrote my switch formulas in Microsoft Word before transferring them into the Query Expression Builder. Microsoft Word put slanted, FANCY " " around some of the text and straight, REGULAR " " around the rest. Access couldn't identify the FANCY " " and was interpreting the "Incomplete" as ["Incomplete"], a new parameter. So yeah, spelling technically.
