Maple Grove Boys Soccer Falls in Overtime vs. Eagan in Class AAA State Championship

For a second straight season, the Maple Grove boys soccer team finished the season as class AAA state runner-up, as the Crimson fell to Eagan 4-3 in overtime in the state championship. Maple Grove scored the first goal of the game when Frank Miller scored in the 47th minute. After two Eagan goals, Maple Grove answered with a header from Gannon Farrens to tie the game up at two. Everett Johnston gave the Crimson the lead with a goal 59th minute to make it 3-2. But Eagan tied the game up eight minutes later and in overtime, Zayan Oliyath scored the game-winner to give the Wildcats their first-ever state championship. Maple Grove finishes its season with a 19-1-1 record.
