Hands down one of the best DIY tutorials on youtube.

If I may be an old whiny git...
I agree - DRLs should, by law, light the rear of the vehicle too. I see far too many people driving in bad light, fog and heavy rain with their DRLs on, thinking they’re perfectly visible, without bearing in mind that their vehicle is unlit at the rear. Vehicle lighting is as much about being seen as it is about seeing where you’re going.
Great video 😊

Nice video mate, but you didn't mention the fact DRL's are too bright to be used at night and dazzle other drivers which can give you a fine and points, so its better for you to wire them routed into the cab where you have a switch to disconnect the connection from vcc. I would guess it would extend the DIY work by anything between 30 mins to 1 hour depending on if you want a neat job or a rough and tough job. but based on your video, you go for a fairly nice neat job.

Sid, fantastic tutorial. Fitted the DTRL's today on my 2009 Citroen C1. Went straight on without any issues. Can't believe how cheap the kit was (less than £15).
Awsome! 👍

Must admit the back looks good the front with the silly headlights does spoil the aesthetic of the motor on this model

Can you hook these up without running them on constantly?

Is there anyway of taking that and wiring it to some spot lights that are ment to be at the bottom where the blank plastics are on the left and right of your citroen

For anyone wondering about them being road legal. I had my MOT yesterday and they didn't bat an eyelid at them. It failed on other stuff but not the lights 😂

I really like this and a great idea. The only thing that I have a query with is you don't have any way of dimming them or turning off when the side lights or headlights are on. I thought this was a legal requirement in the UK that they should dim or go off if head/side lights are on. I suppose you could just add a cheap control unit to the live feed and side light feed maybe. Great work, thinking of getting either a C1, 107 or Aygo so just subscribed. Thanks.

Cracking video & easy to follow...Thanks very much
Have been trying to figure out the best way to add some DRL to my C1. (and I agree with your point on rear lights too, so I'll be adding that into mine)
Cheers

uuhhhh Cyclone Cyd looks lovely but knowing her she'll be driving along with the DRL's in the winter in the evening thinking she got the lights on... plus you know what you doing with electrics by the look of things, this when a neighbour like you comes handy to have a around 😅
thanks again👍👌

I'd love kit that turns off DRL when I turn on the low beam

I was thinking of fitting a set of these to my latest car, Honda Civic MK8 and was wondering if the ones you fit are still working after nearly three years. Many thanks in advance.

I've just had this kit arrive. No sign of a fuse holder and the supply wire isn't white but black. No real problem really. I've already got a control relay from the existing DIY DLR mod (that has given up the ghost on one side and is all disconnected). Christmas job to remove the existing LED strips and fit this nice little mod.. The wife will be happy.

I couldn't agree more with the comment about DLR and the rear lights. Get worse actually, even more so, if you have auto lights. I've noticed in foggy conditions, especially in daylight, the car tends to turn the main lights off, with just the DLR left on. Nowadays, I manually turn on the main lights if there is intermittent foggy conditions. It might also explain why there seems to be an increase in people driving around with front and rear fog lights on, even when it doesn't really warrant it. This is a guaranteed way to keep the main lights on.

how about Scandinavian AYGO, where DRL are in standard, and regular headlamps are used (the only difference from normal lights is that all interior backlight is off when in DRL mode). Is there a known way to reroute it to this custom hack?
