Eh, nightmare isn't like super strong or anything, ink is just at a disadvantage fighting him.
Sure ink is probably better at melee combat, while also being faster and having more direct battle experience....
*But*
Melee combat isn't effective against nightmare and inks paint slashes would have to go at extremely high speeds in order to cut nightmare up or smth.
At most he could maybe trap nightmare in a sphere of ink or smth of that style.
(Ink probably beats most of nightmares subordinates and everything, problem is that ink/paint attacks aren't really effective against a goopy goober)

2. Both ink and nightmare are immortal this battle (nightmare only die from positivity)
3. Ink is not creator of the aus.
4. Nightmare can battle until ink runs of colors and become soulless puppet.

This makes a lot of sense actually due to the fact that nightmares only weakness is positivity and it just makes him slower to regenerate and both are strong but inks paint attacks aren’t effective on nightmare and ink is better at close combat while nightmare uses ranged with him tentacles sp he can keep his distance

not the mad comments- many sans aus can beat ink in canon including error- the only way he is still here is cuz he is immortal. i don't understand how in peoples mindsets they know that nightmare is stronger than ink and then say that ink has the same strength as error although canonly even said by the creator that error and nightmare are even and a tie in a fight the strength deference when it comes to error is unknown and when it's with ink it's "ink manipulation" so when you really think about it error could be wayyyy stronger than him since error's hp is lots of 9's i even lost count of and inks hp is 50/50. they only tie most of the time because sometimes they wont fight fairly because ink could use x-gasters help and in many other ways too, but the main reason is because they are bot immortal so it sounds quite debatable to know who is stronger. but try adding it up and see

Ink is always creative with his technique and he has no soul which causes his hp is unknown. He is more unlikely to be killed but he cannot move at all, if he took too much damage.

Nightmare is well known for its defense, mainly due to negative aura that acts as if it's acid and it eats slowly up someone whose get too close.

And tentacles that is formed by negative goo are used as well, if negative aura wasn't enough.

And Nightmare won not by just regain, but well placed defense unlike Error. (Canon Nightmare wouldn't like to kill a person; It will ruin its business.)

Not here to debate but I still can’t believe that you guys you guys do a debate on 2 skeletons and what do they have ?
Ink : teleportation, portal manipulation, telepathy, matter manipulation ( bones and gaster blaster from the air ), super speed strength, extreme durability, summoning, ink manipulation
Nightmare : liquid manipulation ( kinda ), high generation, summoning, tp ?, super speed strength, uhh emotions manipulation?

Ink es solo levemente más fuerte que UT!Sans, tiene una gran resistencia quitando el hecho de su inmortalidad... Pero ninguna de sus habilidades serviría contra Nightmare, bueno, exepto la de crear un sol, pero eso le tomaría tiempo... Además, Nightmare sabe que no puede matarlo técnicamente, así que solo le dará una paliza o lo encerrará a Ink
