My uncle is IAS he is tensed 24x7 hardly have we seen him smiling this job is very hectic and pressuring, compare to that my colleague is a grade B officer so much relaxed and he enjoys his life to the fullest so everything apart ias job a very demanding and tough job, grade b very fulfilling job

IAS is not comparable to any job even RBI.... It provide diverse opportunities, authority, invaluable perks and above all the respect you command by your actions. If money and corporate life had been every thing then people with 50LPA would have not left jobs to clear IAS for 8LPA...the recent toppers like Srishti Dabas was earning 30 LPA in RBI but she left it for IAS, AIR 1 was earning 40 LPA as well.... But most of these guys when they enter services forget the purpose of their service... Forget professional satisfaction because you are not free to do anything on your whims. Remember professional satisfaction is very subjective. A tax paying citizen is also contributing to nation's service.

PS- I believe that IAS has been very Overhyped... I myself admire their service but there is very hectic work life balance + pressures from all sides... The most coolest service I believe among all civil service is IFS (foreign Service). You get lot of opportunities to work at global level+ good work life balance

I saw IAS in front of district judge in Court and the judge shouted him so much that time i feel that IAS is not so authoritative..

U tutors always motivate aspirants by talking about perks and salary . Let me tell you that after you get the job you expect work life balance and type of work .When you hate your work nothing matters . Talk on this first perks and salary are secondary
