What great lyrics... Chorus 1: If the love that I've got for you is gone (the love is obviously not gone) / If the river I cried ain't that long (doesn't matter how long the river you've cried is or not, you're still crying) / Then I'm wrong, yeah I'm wrong This Ain't A Love Song (but it is a love song cause the chorus beautifully reinforces that fact). I love how each 'if condition' inherently reinforces the fact it is a love song, all while the chorus explicitly says that it isn't. It's like the conflict in ones mind during a breakup. Then all the following choruses give into it being a love song even more while still explicitly claiming it's not to the point the new 'if statement' kind of makes no sense within the entirety of the line, but it leaves no doubt and if it stood alone, certainly conveys there is love there.
