How I got here…

21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.

Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).

To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.

You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.

Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.

Never quit,

Alex

*FULL DISCLOSURE*
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

Shared reality. Not many people talks about it. You can have a nice person who cares for you but in the end doesn't understand your core. That's a huge red flag that always go unnoticed.

I know many grown men who need to hear this! They complain there are no good women and trash relationships or the idea of marriage. But in reality they’re chasing shallow women who have nothing more to offer than their looks. It’s one thing to have both beauty, brains, and drive. It’s another to only have looks. Besides once you get to know a person, man or woman, and you realize there is zero substance…..even their looks change for the worse.

Because someone mentioned the Tates in the comments I realized that Alex is much more of a man than any of those masculinity gurus.

Alex you are like a big brother to me and I agree with a lot you say, internalised them and execute. Although on a smaller scale (atom smaller). It's amazing to look back on how you have influenced me and and through me my little brother is inspired and influenced as well.
I know this is not some kind of gospel but because someone mentioned the Tates the comparison come in mind

Everything they believe about the world you hate….

Pretty much the case for any relationship. Shared mission, shared values.

It better to a 4.5 in looks but the soul and kindness of angel aka 10 . Because that will overcome everything else in the end as we all get old tired, injured, broken and beaten down later in life what type of woman would you rather have at your side to take care of you at he end .

It’s true, you will get the 10 and you will dump her, because who she is to you is a 10 and nothing else. But finding someone who means more than her rating is just as hard as acquiring wealth

This is why I think people tend to establish and build relationships with other people who are adjacent to where they are. If I have a shit-ton of money than I won’t have to worry about my significant other loving me for my money if she too has her own pile of cash that she’s built up for herself. Same thing with celebrities

This man needs to learn that you can have an attractive girl that you *also* get on with. It’s not mutually exclusive.

If you're broke and doesn't have ambitions, then you will indeed have trouble finding someone you like that are interested in you too. Gotta go both ways. And yes it's not worth my time spending time with a woman that won't like me when I'm broke.

If you’re spending money like a baller showing your financial status off, you better not act surprised on the women you’re attracting.
