Film star Tom Hanks has said there is no way back for movie mogul Harvey Weinstein following allegations of sexual misconduct and assault.
"We're at a watershed moment, this is a sea change," Hanks told the BBC.
"His last name will become a noun and a verb. It will become an identifying moniker for a state of being for which there was a before and an after."
Mr Weinstein "unequivocally denies" allegations of sexual assault, harassment and rape.
"Everybody has stories about some aspect of the 'casting couch'," Hanks said.

This whole thing is like a "damned if you do and damned if you don't situation". If you come out and say that casting couches have been a thing for ages, you get called out for not bringing attention to it any earlier. If you go the route of "Oh I had no idea this stuff was going on but we must end it" (which is what many are choosing to do) you're still gonna get criticised. Because lets be real, all these guys did know but didn't do anything in fear of ruining their careers. Its easy to speak your mind now that your job isn't on the line.

Let’s face it, pretty much the whole world operates like this. Even in an office, majority of people (not including me) are too scared to speak up. Most people are followers, not leaders. It’s pathetic.

My friend called someone out on sexual harassment in our very small office. It was an extremely hard situation and she was made out to be a trouble maker. I was the only person on her side. This was a small office situation. So I can't imagine how difficult it would be to take on a powerful Hollywood mogul. It's alright for everyone to say that no one would do anything about it but people don't seem to realise exactly how hard it is to speak out about something like this as an individual. Power is in numbers and unfortunately it took them far too long to rally together that's where the problem lies.

We can point the finger all day long but we don't know that someone wasn't encouraging people to speak out and rally together earlier. It's just easier said than done
