HR is not the employees friend. They're basically political commissars. They're given perfunctory task that other departments in the company can do to hide that fact. Gather evidence that helps the company if the employee plans to sue them. They're also the people that have pizza parties at the offices instead of solving issues like the company being understaffed or unfair salaries, etcetera...

The Key HR functions: 1. Lying. 2. Wasting company resources. 3. Covering your ass. 4. Being a worthless weasel. 5. Return to #1 and repeat.
